Current Situation of the Occurrence an Control of Athetis lepigone and Athetis dissimilis

Abstract

Athetis lepigone and Athetis dissimilis are two import lepidopterous pests occurring in summer maize field after the reformation of crop cultivation in China, which mainly injure corn seeding and the damage extent are severe year by year. In addition to corn, the two pests could also feed on soybean, peanut and wheat. It is difficult to prevent and control the two pests since their hidden damage ways. Based on the relevant research reports in recent years, this paper summarized and analyzed the damage characteristics, occurrence and control strategies of the two pests, so as to provide references for the research and understanding of their biological and ecological characteristics and scientific prevention and control.
